U Visas & T Visas
U visas and T visas exist to protect people who have been victimized, and to give them a path to safety and legal status in the United States.
The U visa is available to victims of qualifying crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse and have been, are being, or are likely to be helpful to law enforcement. The T visa provides similar protection to survivors of human trafficking. Both visas offer temporary legal status, work authorization, and a pathway to permanent residency. Our attorneys handle these cases with the sensitivity and discretion they require.
We prepare and file your U visa petition, including the required law enforcement certification (Form I-918B) and supporting documentation.
We assist trafficking survivors in filing for T visa status, documenting the trafficking experience and cooperation with law enforcement.
We work with you and the certifying agency to obtain the required certification from police, prosecutors, or other qualifying authorities.
Qualifying family members, including spouses, children, and in some cases parents and siblings, may be included in your petition.
U and T visa holders are eligible for employment authorization. We ensure you receive your work permit as quickly as possible.
After three years in U or T visa status, you may be eligible to apply for lawful permanent residence. We guide you through that process when the time comes.
We listen to your story in a safe, judgment-free environment and assess your eligibility for U or T visa protection.
We help you document the crime or trafficking experience and coordinate with law enforcement to obtain the required certification.
We prepare and submit your complete petition to USCIS, including all supporting evidence and declarations.
Once approved, we help you obtain work authorization and begin planning your path toward permanent residency.
